Cooking meat with fire is in our DNA. Since the time of cavemen, people have got together to share food together at the end of the day and this almost always involved cooking meat over a fire. It was during these communal times that discussions would be had about what was going on in the village, from gossip and announcements to the older members of the tribes telling religious stories to the children. This was a time of passing on traditions, culture and codes of conduct and can still serve as such today. All of these things combine to form culture – BBQ is at the heart of culture.
